FC Bayern Munich Complete Ismael Saibari Signing
FC Bayern Munich have officially completed the signing of Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven, adding another exciting attacking option to Vincent Kompany’s squad ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 25-year-old Morocco international has signed a contract with the German champions until 30 June 2031 and will wear the number 34 shirt.
The transfer represents an important step in Saibari’s rapidly developing career. Born in Terrassa, Spain, Saibari began his youth career at RSC Anderlecht before moving through KRC Genk and eventually joining PSV in 2020. At Eindhoven, he developed from a promising youngster into one of the club’s most influential attacking players.
During his time at PSV, Saibari made 142 official appearances, scoring 42 goals and providing 29 assists. He also helped the Dutch club win three consecutive league titles, three Dutch Super Cups and two Dutch Cups. His performances were particularly impressive during his final season, when he was named Footballer of the Year in the Netherlands.
Bayern’s decision to sign Saibari was not based solely on his recent success. Sporting director Max Eberl explained that the club had been monitoring the player for some time. His performance against Bayern in the Champions League, where he caused problems with his physicality, pace and versatility, further convinced the club that he could strengthen their attack.
Saibari also arrives in Munich with considerable international experience. Since making his Morocco debut in 2023, he has established himself as an important member of the national team. His performances at the 2026 World Cup further increased his profile, with the versatile attacker scoring three goals during Morocco’s campaign and converting the decisive penalty in the shootout against the Netherlands.
For Bayern, one of Saibari’s biggest attractions is his versatility. He can operate in several attacking positions and offers a combination of strength, speed, technical ability and goal threat. Bayern have described those qualities as important additions to a squad looking for greater flexibility in attack.
The player himself has made it clear that he sees the move as a major opportunity. Saibari said Bayern’s style of football suits his characteristics and highlighted Kompany’s role in convincing him to make the move to Munich.
His arrival therefore gives Bayern another dynamic attacking option while also providing the club with a player who has already demonstrated his ability at domestic, European and international level.
After a successful spell in Eindhoven, Saibari now begins a new chapter at the Allianz Arena. Bayern will hope that his energy, versatility and attacking quality can translate into important contributions as they compete for major trophies in the 2026/27 campaign.
