Real Madrid forward Vinicius Junior has opened up about his relationships within the football world, revealing that he frequently speaks with Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai and considers him among the players he is closest to.
“I talk a lot with Szoboszlai,” the Brazilian forward said in an interview with YouTuber Ibai Llanos. “We met when we were younger. Lucas Paqueta is my best friend in football. Raphinha in Barcelona, Savinho, Reinier in Brazil — we Brazilians are almost always together off the field.”
Szoboszlai joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2023 for a reported fee of about $83 million (£61 million) and remains under contract at Anfield until 2028.
Meanwhile, Hungary national team manager Marco Rossi recently confirmed that playing for Real Madrid has long been a dream for the 22-year-old midfielder — a statement likely to fuel further speculation about his future ambitions.
Vinicius’ comments highlight the strong personal ties that often exist across club rivalries, offering a glimpse into friendships that stretch beyond the pitch and national borders.
