Fermín López Lifts the Lid on Raphinha’s Relentless Energy Driving Barcelona’s Title Charge
Fermín López has revealed just how important Raphinha has become to Barcelona, describing the Brazilian winger as a key source of energy and inspiration within the squad. The Barça midfielder believes Raphinha’s intensity on the pitch has had a powerful impact on the entire team during a hugely positive 2025 campaign.
Raphinha has returned to sensational form following his recovery from injury, and his presence has been a major boost for head coach Hansi Flick. According to López, the winger’s hunger, work rate and movement set the tone for Barcelona’s performances.
“He has a lot of energy and he transmits that to the team,” López told Sport. “When you see how he plays under pressure, how he finds space and the intensity he brings to every action, it lifts everyone around him.”
López admitted that Raphinha’s absence earlier in the season was strongly felt, underlining his growing importance. “That energy spreads to all of us and we play with the same drive. It was obvious when he wasn’t there — he’s a very important player.”
Barcelona currently sit top of the La Liga table and are aiming to add more silverware in 2026. López insists the squad remains highly competitive and ambitious, with dreams of Champions League glory very much alive.
“We’re taking it step by step,” he said. “But our dream is to reach the final and win the Champions League.”
