Barcelona Offered Chelsea’s Axel Disasi as January Option, but Permanent Deal Poses Major Hurdle
Barcelona have been offered the opportunity to sign Chelsea defender Axel Disasi in the January transfer window, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano. The La Liga champions are actively searching for a centre-back following a serious setback, with Andreas Christensen ruled out for at least four months after suffering an ACL injury.
Disasi has emerged as a potential solution, but negotiations are complicated by Chelsea’s firm stance. The Premier League club are unwilling to sanction a loan move and will only consider a permanent transfer for the French defender. This condition presents a significant challenge for Barcelona, who continue to operate under strict Financial Fair Play constraints.
With limited room to manoeuvre financially, committing to a sizeable transfer fee in January may prove difficult for the Blaugrana. As a result, Barcelona are also exploring alternative options. Bournemouth centre-back Marcos Senesi is on their radar, although he is more likely to become available on a free transfer next summer rather than in the winter window.
