Allegri–Gatti Phone Call Sparks Milan–Juventus Rumours, But No Deal in Sight
AC Milan’s search for a new central defender this January has fueled fresh speculation involving Juventus defender Federico Gatti. However, despite the growing buzz, the situation remains far from concrete. Transfer expert Matteo Moretto, speaking on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, clarified the latest developments surrounding the rumour.
According to Moretto, Milan are actively targeting a centre-back to reinforce their squad, ideally on a loan deal during the winter transfer window. While reports have linked Gatti with a move to San Siro, Moretto revealed that the only confirmed contact so far is a phone call between Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri and the Juventus defender.
Crucially, there are currently no negotiations taking place between Milan and Juventus, and even within Milan’s management there is no full agreement on Gatti as a target. Moretto also dismissed talk of a potential swap deal involving Ricci, stating it has “no substance.”
For now, Milan’s defensive hunt continues, with Gatti remaining just one of several names under consideration.
