Aggies Reload: Texas A&M’s 2025-26 Roster Powered by Big-Time Transfers from Big Ten and Kansas
COLLEGE STATION — The 2025-26 Texas A&M men’s basketball team is gearing up for what could be a defining season, and the Aggies aren’t coming lightly. With a reloaded roster that features battle-tested transfers from the Big Ten and Big 12—most notably from Kansas—the program is sending a clear message: they’re done rebuilding and ready to contend.
Head coach Buzz Williams made strategic moves in the transfer portal, zeroing in on players with both postseason experience and elite-level competition backgrounds. Among the biggest additions is Malik Drummond, a 6’7″ forward who averaged 12.8 points and 6.1 rebounds last season for Illinois. Drummond’s versatility on both ends makes him a matchup nightmare, and his Big Ten grit is expected to bring much-needed physicality to the Aggies’ frontcourt.
Joining him is Tyrone “T-Mac” Callahan, a lightning-fast point guard out of Kansas. Callahan was part of Bill Self’s deep bench during their Elite Eight run in 2024, and although his minutes were limited, his playmaking instincts, defensive tenacity, and deep range caught the attention of scouts. At A&M, he’s expected to take over starting point guard duties and lead a fast-paced offense.
“We didn’t just want talent—we wanted leadership, hunger, and guys who’ve played in tough environments,” Coach Williams said during a recent presser. “These guys bring that.”
Also notable is the arrival of Devin Stokes, a transfer from Michigan State known for his high-IQ defense and relentless motor. Stokes will likely anchor the Aggies’ second unit, giving them depth and veteran poise off the bench.
The combination of SEC toughness with Big Ten resilience and Kansas pedigree gives the Aggies a unique identity heading into the season. Early practices have reportedly been intense, with returning players commenting on the elevated competitiveness and energy.
