After a 2025 season that saw the team finish with a 30–26 overall record and an 11–19 mark in Southeastern Conference (SEC) play, Athletic Director Trev Alberts has expressed confidence in Earley’s leadership and vision for the program’s future .
Earley, who was promoted to head coach in June 2024 following Jim Schlossnagle’s departure to Texas, faced high expectations after the Aggies’ runner-up finish in the 2024 College World Series. However, the 2025 season was marred by injuries to key players such as Gavin Grahovac, Caden Sorrell, and Jace LaViolette, contributing to the team’s struggles and missing the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2021.
Despite these setbacks, Earley’s previous success as the Aggies’ hitting coach from 2022 to 2024 showcased his ability to develop potent offenses. Under his guidance, Texas A&M set program records for home runs (136) and walks (422) in 2024, leading the nation in the latter category .
