Virginia Tech Strikes Big: Solomon Davis Commits to Hokies for 2025
The Hokies just got a whole lot bigger—and better.
Virginia Tech has officially landed the commitment of rising 2025 big man Solomon Davis, a name that’s been buzzing in recruiting circles for months. At 6’9” with a 7-foot wingspan, Davis brings a rare mix of physicality, agility, and rim protection that instantly raises the ceiling for Mike Young’s squad heading into the future.
Davis, a dominant force in the paint out of the DMV area, chose Virginia Tech over offers from Maryland, VCU, and Pittsburgh. His decision to join the Hokies is a massive win for the program, both in terms of on-court impact and recruiting momentum.
“Virginia Tech just felt like home,” Davis said in a brief statement. “Coach Young and the staff made it clear that I was a priority, and I see an opportunity to come in and make an immediate impact.”
Known for his shot-blocking instincts and motor on both ends of the floor, Davis averaged 14 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 blocks per game during his junior season. His stock soared during the summer AAU circuit, where scouts praised his improved footwork, mid-range jumper, and leadership on the floor.
Analysts say Davis has the potential to develop into an all-conference caliber player in the ACC—and possibly more.
With Davis now in the fold, Virginia Tech’s 2025 recruiting class is gaining serious attention. The Hokies are clearly targeting high-upside players who can bring toughness, versatility, and defensive presence. Davis fits that mold perfectly.
For Hokie Nation, this commitment isn’t just another addition—it’s a statement. Virginia Tech is building something serious in Blacksburg, and Solomon Davis might just be the centerpiece of that future.
Stay tuned. The Hokies aren’t done yet.
