Hogs Hunt for More Muscle Up Front

With the season fast approaching, the Arkansas Razorbacks are actively seeking to strengthen their offensive and defensive lines, signaling a clear priority on winning battles in the trenches.

Head Coach Sam Pittman, himself a former offensive line guru, has made no secret of the team’s need to add size, depth, and experience in the trenches. Whether through the transfer portal or high school recruits, the Hogs are casting a wide net in search of linemen who can make an immediate impact.

“We’re looking for guys who can step in and play tough, smart football from day one,” Pittman said earlier this week. “You win games at the line of scrimmage, and we need to get better there — plain and simple.”

Injuries and inconsistent play plagued the Razorbacks’ offensive front last season, contributing to a lackluster run game and protection issues for the quarterbacks. On the defensive side, the line struggled to generate pressure consistently, allowing opponents too much comfort in the pocket.

To address these gaps, Arkansas has already been in contact with several portal prospects and is hosting a few key targets on campus visits. The team is especially focused on experienced linemen who can bring leadership as well as physicality.

With spring practices wrapped and summer workouts looming, the push to shore up the line has taken center stage in Fayetteville. Razorback fans can expect some movement in the coming weeks as commitments roll in and the roster begins to take final shape.

If the Hogs can land the right pieces, it could mean a major step forward for a program hungry to return to SEC relevance — starting where it always matters most: in the trenches.
