MITCHELL ROBINSON JUST SHOWED CELTICS FANS WHY THEY SHOULDN’T GIVE UP ON HIM! ☘️🏀🔥
Boston Celtics supporters may have had plenty of reasons to question Mitchell Robinson’s performances during the opening stages of the 2026/27 NBA season, but his recent display against the Milwaukee Bucks has provided a timely reminder of why the organization believed in bringing him to Boston.
The experienced center has experienced a difficult beginning to life with the Celtics. After arriving with high expectations, Robinson struggled to reproduce the dominant rebounding and defensive performances that made him such an important player during his time with the New York Knicks.
His early performances generated criticism among sections of the Boston fanbase, with some supporters already questioning whether the club made the right decision by signing him.
However, his latest performance offered something different.
Although Robinson struggled with his shooting, finishing just one of eight attempts from the field, his contribution on the offensive glass was particularly impressive. He collected 10 rebounds, including six offensive rebounds, demonstrating the relentless physical presence that Boston desperately needs.
Those six offensive rebounds were especially important because they gave the Celtics additional opportunities to attack and kept possessions alive when their initial attempts failed.
It was a reminder that Robinson’s value cannot always be measured by points scored.
His ability to dominate the boards, protect the basket, create opportunities through physical screens and challenge opposing players around the rim makes him a valuable addition to Boston’s frontcourt.
Head coach Joe Mazzulla also showed his appreciation for Robinson’s contribution, praising the center’s performance and emphasizing the importance of understanding the different responsibilities he has been given in Boston.
The adjustment has not been straightforward. Robinson spent several seasons developing his game in New York, where his responsibilities and offensive positioning were different.
Now, he must adapt to a new system, new teammates and a different basketball philosophy.
That transition naturally requires patience.
Boston also has other frontcourt options, including Neemias Queta and Luka Garza, meaning Robinson cannot simply expect to receive unlimited playing time. He must demonstrate that he can contribute consistently whenever his number is called.
Nevertheless, his latest performance suggests that there is still plenty of basketball left in him.
The Celtics did not bring Robinson to Boston simply because they needed another player who could score points. They wanted someone capable of changing the physical balance of games, winning second-chance opportunities and making life difficult for opposing offenses.
Those qualities remain part of his game.
For Celtics supporters, the message should be clear: writing off Mitchell Robinson after a difficult start would be premature.
He has already demonstrated what he can offer when fully involved, and his latest rebounding performance is an encouraging sign.
The season is still young, and Boston will need every available weapon if it hopes to compete for the biggest prizes.
Perhaps Robinson’s best performances are still ahead of him.
Celtics fans, don’t give up on Mitchell Robinson just yet. The big man may still have something special to offer in Boston! ☘️🔥
