Benfica Step Up Pursuit of João Palhinha with €25m Package on the Table
Portuguese giants Benfica are pushing hard to bring João Palhinha back home, with the club now preparing an offer worth up to €25 million to secure the midfielder’s signature.
The proposed deal is expected to include €20 million in guaranteed fees, with an additional €5 million in performance-related bonuses, highlighting Benfica’s determination to land one of their top summer targets.
Palhinha has emerged as the No. 1 midfield priority for Benfica manager Marco Silva, who previously coached the Portuguese international at Fulham. Silva is eager to reunite with the experienced midfielder and believes Palhinha can become the cornerstone of Benfica’s midfield ahead of the new season.
The move also appeals strongly to the player. Palhinha is reportedly very keen on returning to Portugal, with the opportunity to play again in Lisbon viewed as an exciting next step in his career.
Negotiations are expected to intensify in the coming days as Benfica look to finalize a deal and bring one of Portugal’s finest midfielders back to the Primeira Liga.
