Rangers defeated Falkirk 2–1, with Lawrence Shankland scoring twice, before following that result with a 1–0 victory over Motherwell. Those consecutive league wins have provided McInnes with some much-needed breathing room.

The situation, therefore, is not one of a manager already being sacked. Rather, McInnes is operating under significant pressure at one of Scotland’s biggest clubs.

The coming weeks could prove crucial. Rangers supporters will expect the team to build on its recent victories, improve its performances and remain competitive at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
