Hakimi Returns as Morocco Dominate Zambia 3–0 to Lead Group A
Morocco delivered a commanding statement of intent at AFCON 2025, cruising past Zambia with a convincing 3–0 victory in front of a roaring crowd at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
Ayoub El Kaabi was the star of the night, netting a brilliant brace with goals in the 10th and 51st minutes to put the Atlas Lions firmly in control. Brahim Díaz added a touch of class with a superb strike in the 28th minute, capping off a dominant first-half display.
The biggest cheer of the evening, however, was reserved for Achraf Hakimi. Making his return after an ankle injury, the Moroccan captain’s presence lifted both the team and the atmosphere, as fans erupted to welcome one of their key leaders back onto the pitch.
With this emphatic win, Morocco sit top of Group A and continue to fuel belief that this could finally be their year. Playing on home soil, confidence is growing, performances are improving, and the dream of lifting the AFCON trophy in Rabat feels closer than ever.
The Atlas Lions have made their message clear: they are here for glory.
