Rossoneri Raid London: AC Milan Close In on Shock January Move for Niclas Füllkrug
AC Milan are closing in on a January deal for West Ham United striker Niclas Füllkrug, with the clubs in advanced talks over an initial six-month loan move. The Germany international is expected to leave the London Stadium when the transfer window opens, after finding first-team opportunities limited under new Hammers boss Nuno Espírito Santo.
The proposed agreement would see the 32-year-old move to Italy until the end of the season, with the deal also potentially including an option for Milan to make the transfer permanent in the summer. Milan are keen to bolster their attacking options as they push for domestic and European success in the second half of the campaign.
Füllkrug joined West Ham from Borussia Dortmund for £19 million in August 2024 but has struggled to make a consistent impact in England. His first season was disrupted by injury, and he has managed just nine appearances so far this campaign. In total, the experienced striker has scored three goals in 28 games for the Hammers.
Despite his difficulties in the Premier League, Milan believe Füllkrug’s physical presence, experience, and proven pedigree at international level could make him a valuable short-term addition in Serie A.
