Donnarumma’s individual triumph was announced at The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony in Doha, Qatar on Tuesday.
The accolade recognises the Italian’s performances between 11 August 2024 and 2 August 2025, when he played for French club Paris Saint-Germain.
During that period, Donnarumma helped PSG to win the UEFA Champions League and a domestic treble of Ligue 1, the French Cup and Champions Trophy, and to reach the FIFA Club World Cup final where they were defeated by Chelsea.
Donnarumma was voted the best goalkeeper in the world by a panel of men’s international team coaches and captains, football journalists and fans.
