As the Philadelphia Phillies wrap up their last series of the season, rosters for the postseason slowly come into view. Prior to Friday’s game against the Twins, Phillies Manager Rob Thomson announced the minor leaguers who will be part of the ‘stay hot camp’.
There will be three pitchers: Nolan Hoffman, Alan Rangel, and Seth Johnson. And, there’ll be four hitters: Caleb Ricketts, Rafael Lantigua, Donovan Walton, and Johan Rojas.
Phillies’ plan
This group of minor leaguers will stay active during the postseason in case of any possible injuries. All of the players have been on the major league roster during the season except for Caleb Ricketts. The 25-year-old catcher spent most of his season with Double-A Reading, where he hit .256.
Lantigua was briefly on the roster but did not appear in any games. He spent his entire 2025 season with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs. He played mostly at 2B and 3B but also saw time at shortstop and in left field.
Donovan Walton just made it through waivers on Friday after being DFA’d. He recorded one hit in eight at-bats while in the majors. In 50 games with Lehigh Valley, Walton thrived, hitting .339.
Johan Rojas started the season on the Phillies’ major league roster.
He hit .224 with 12 stolen bases while with the Phillies. He’s been with Triple-A since 7/30, where he’s hit .279. Out of the group, he’s the most likely player to be added to the postseason roster for his speed and defense.

In Hoffman’s lone Phillies appearance, he gave up three earned runs in one inning pitched. In 30 innings with Lehigh Valley, he has a 3.60 ERA with 35 strikeouts. He was acquired from Texas in June.
Rangel pitched 11 innings for the Phillies in the regular season, allowing just 3 ER. In Lehigh Valley, he started 25 games with a 4.55 ERA and 131 strikeouts.
Seth Johnson appeared in 12.2 IP for the Phillies in 2025. He allowed 6 ER and struck out 18. He appeared in 39 games for the IronPIgs, recording a 4.75 ERA.
All seven players will be at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday for practice.
