NEW GATORS PGs BOOGIE FLAND, XAIVIAN LEE FORM DUET SURE TO HAVE UF DANCING IN MARCH
GAINESVILLE, FL — The Swamp just got a whole lot smoother.
In a stunning offseason development, the Florida Gators men’s basketball program has landed one of the most electrifying backcourt duos in recent memory: five-star phenom Boogie Fland and Ivy League standout Xaivian Lee. The pairing of Fland’s explosive athleticism with Lee’s high-IQ court vision has Florida fans dreaming of a deep NCAA Tournament run — and possibly the program’s first Final Four appearance since 2014.
Boogie Fland, the Bronx-born McDonald’s All-American, shocked recruiting insiders by spurning bluebloods like Kentucky and Kansas to commit to UF. Known for his flashy handle, fearless scoring, and streetball swagger, Fland brings an edge to the Gators’ offense. “I wanted to be somewhere I could lead a movement,” Fland said during his commitment ceremony. “Gainesville felt like home. We’re about to make history.”
Meanwhile, Xaivian Lee, the cerebral Canadian guard who starred at Princeton, enters via the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. A proven floor general, Lee led the Ivy League in assists and three-point percentage last season while guiding the Tigers to a surprise Sweet 16 berth. Analysts are already calling him the smartest point guard in the SEC.
