Two Oklahoma Softball Stars Earn Spots on WCWS All-Tournament Team Following Stellar Performances
Oklahoma’s reign as a softball powerhouse shows no signs of slowing down, with two standout Sooners earning coveted spots on the 2025 Women’s College World Series (WCWS) All-Tournament Team. Their standout performances were instrumental in Oklahoma’s deep run in the tournament, showcasing both talent and leadership on college softball’s biggest stage.
Leading the way was senior infielder Tiare Jennings, who delivered yet another stellar postseason. Jennings, known for her clutch hitting and steady defense, came through in multiple high-pressure moments, batting .438 throughout the tournament with three home runs and eight RBIs. Her ability to shift momentum with one swing reminded fans and opponents alike why she’s long been a staple in the Sooners’ lineup.
Joining her on the All-Tournament Team was sophomore pitcher Nicole May, who stepped up as Oklahoma’s ace in a tightly contested WCWS. May threw 22 innings over four appearances, posting a 1.59 ERA and racking up 29 strikeouts. Her commanding presence in the circle and ability to silence some of the nation’s top offenses proved vital to Oklahoma’s postseason success.
Head coach Patty Gasso praised both players for their leadership and resilience. “Tiare and Nicole represent the standard of excellence we hold at Oklahoma,” Gasso said. “They gave everything for this team, and it showed in the way they played under pressure.”
Despite falling short of a national title this year, the Sooners’ strong showing and individual accolades reflect the program’s continued dominance and depth. With a strong core returning and new talent on the rise, Oklahoma looks poised to remain a national contender for years to come.
