Jordy Bahl Sets Historic NCAA Playoff Record with Unprecedented Two-Way Dominance
Nebraska softball star Jordy Bahl has etched her name into NCAA history, becoming the first player ever to rank in the top 10 nationally in batting average, home runs, ERA, and wins during a single season. Her remarkable two-way performance in the 2025 NCAA Tournament has drawn comparisons to MLB’s Shohei Ohtani, underscoring her exceptional prowess both in the circle and at the place.
In a standout Super Regional game against Tennessee, Bahl showcased her dual-threat capabilities by pitching a complete game, allowing just two runs on seven hits with six strikeouts. Offensively, she contributed with a hit, a walk, and scored two runs, propelling Nebraska to a 5-2 victory and bringing them within one win of their first Women’s College World Series appearance since 2013 .
Bahl’s season statistics are nothing short of extraordinary. She ranks fifth nationally in batting average (.475), tied for seventh in home runs (23), sixth in ERA (1.50), and tied for fifth in wins (26). Notably, she’s the only player in the country to be in the top ten across all these categories. Additionally, she stands sixth in OPS (1.576), fourth in runs scored (71), and second in hits allowed per seven innings (3.72) .
