For Kaleb Glenn: the journey has shifted, but a medical redshirt will protect his eligibility while he rehabs toward a robust return. For MSU: deficit becomes opportunity—fresh faces get chances, veterans step up, and the path forward remains competitive. For Izzo: once again proving why he’s one of college basketball’s elite coaches—resilience in the face of adversity, and unwavering team-first mentality.

  • Draymond Green’s love for Michigan State runs deeper than accolades and banners. A native of Saginaw, Michigan, Green joined the Spartans in 2008 and played under legendary head coach Tom Izzo. During his four-year college career, he transformed from a slightly overlooked high school recruit into a national force, earning Big Ten Player of the Year honors and leading the Spartans to multiple Final Four appearances.
  • The player in question — let’s call him Jaylen “Flash” Carter for illustrative purposes — is not just a highly rated safety. He’s a true blue-chip recruit. Measuring in at 6-foot-2, 195 pounds with elite speed, downhill tackling ability, and rare ball skills, Carter was already on the radar of virtually every blue-blood program before his sophomore season.

Seismic Shift in College Football Recruiting: Desir Twins Flip from Florida State to Alabama in Stunning Coup

In a monumental development that has sent shockwaves across the college football landscape, five-star identical twin defensive ends Darryll and Mandrell Desir have decommitted from Florida State and announced their commitment to the University of Alabama. The powerhouse Crimson Tide, already boasting the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class for 2027, just widened the gap with this dual acquisition.

The Desir twins, hailing from Plantation, Florida, are regarded as generational talents. Darryll, known for his relentless motor and elite pass-rushing instincts, and Mandrell, praised for his raw power and versatility along the line, were long-time Florida State commits and considered foundational to the Seminoles’ future defense. Their surprise flip came after an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend, followed by a cryptic social media post that sparked speculation—and eventual confirmation.

“This is a program built on greatness,” Darryll said during their commitment announcement. “Coach DeBoer and the staff laid out a vision that we want to be a part of.”

Their decision leaves Florida State scrambling, while other top contenders—Penn State, Nebraska, and Oregon—are left to regroup after pushing hard in recent weeks. Recruiting analysts suggest Alabama’s developing defensive scheme under new coordinator Travaris Robinson played a key role, promising immediate playing time and NFL development.

“This is the kind of move that changes the balance of power,” said 247Sports recruiting analyst Matt Simmons. “Not only do you gain two top-five defensive players, but you also strip a rival of cornerstone recruits.”

For Alabama, the addition of the Desir twins solidifies their defensive future. For everyone else, especially Florida State, it’s a harsh reminder that recruiting battles aren’t over until National Signing Day. The 2027 season just got a lot more interesting.
