Florida State University’s football program has achieved unprecedented academic success, setting new records in both team GPA and individual honors during the 2024–25 season. Under the leadership of head coach Mike Norvell, the Seminoles have demonstrated a strong commitment to excellence both on and off the field.
Record-Breaking Academic Performance
In the fall semester of 2024, the FSU football team achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.095, marking the highest team GPA in program history. This accomplishment reflects the players’ dedication to their academic responsibilities while balancing the demands of collegiate athletics.
Additionally, the team recorded a single-year Academic Progress Rate (APR) of 997 in 2024, setting a new program high. This achievement builds upon the previous year’s multi-year APR score of 982, underscoring the program’s consistent academic excellence over time.
All-ACC Academic Team Honors
Florida State placed a school-record 30 student-athletes on the 2024 All-ACC Academic Football Team, marking the third consecutive year the program has achieved this milestone. Among the honorees, Ryan Fitzgerald and Robert Scott Jr. were recognized for the fourth time in their careers, becoming the fourth and fifth players in program history to earn this distinction. Notably, Fitzgerald is pursuing a Master’s degree in accounting, highlighting the academic prowess of FSU’s student-athletes.
Other notable honorees include Brian Courtney, Joshua Farmer, and Kevin Knowles II, who were honored for the third time in their careers, and AJ Cottrill, Justin Cryer, Bryson Estes, Donny Hiebert, Keiondre Jones, Azareye’h Thomas, Jackson West, and Hykeem Williams, who made the list for a second time.
