In a storybook turn of events that has captured the hearts of Indiana high school basketball fans, former Indiana Hoosiers star Sherron Wilkerson has guided Jeffersonville High School to its first IHSAA Class 4A State Championship in over two decades. The Red Devils, under Wilkerson’s passionate leadership, completed a thrilling season with a gritty, hard-fought victory in the state final, marking a monumental achievement for the historic program.
Wilkerson, a Jeffersonville native and 1993 Indiana All-Star, returned to his alma mater with a mission—to restore the proud tradition of Red Devils basketball. And in just his second year at the helm, he has done exactly that. Jeffersonville’s championship run was fueled by suffocating defense, unselfish offense, and a no-quit mentality that mirrored the fiery intensity of their head coach.
