Tennessee Vols Appoint NFL Legend Willie Gault as New Assistant General Manager
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — In a move that blends athletic prestige with strategic leadership, the Tennessee Volunteers have named former NFL star and track icon Willie Gault as their new Assistant General Manager. Gault, a standout wide receiver with the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Raiders, is best remembered for his role in the Bears’ iconic 1985 Super Bowl team. Prior to his professional football career, he was a dual-sport sensation at the University of Tennessee, excelling in both football and track. Now, he returns to Rocky Top in a new capacity—bringing decades of experience, a champion’s mentality, and a deep-rooted connection to the Volunteer legacy.
