Florida State Seminoles softball head coach Lonni Alameda has been honored as the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Coach of the Year, marking her seventh career win of this prestigious award. This recognition underscores her exceptional leadership and the remarkable success of the Seminoles under her guidance.
In the 2025 season, Alameda led Florida State to an impressive 44–8 overall record and an 18–3 mark in ACC play, securing the program’s eighth ACC Regular Season Championship in the past 11 seasons. The Seminoles maintained a top-10 ranking throughout the season, reflecting their consistent excellence. Alameda’s coaching prowess is further highlighted by her career record of 806–222–2 (.783) over 17 seasons at Florida State, placing her among the top-15 active NCAA Division I softball coaches by winning percentage.
Beyond her tactical acumen, Alameda’s resilience has been a source of inspiration. In early 2025, she publicly shared her breast cancer diagnosis but committed to continue coaching, expressing gratitude for the support from her team, staff, and the Tallahassee community. Her determination and unwavering leadership have been instrumental in guiding the Seminoles through a challenging season.
Alameda’s impact extends beyond the field. Under her leadership, Florida State has become a powerhouse in collegiate softball, with multiple NCAA Tournament appearances, including national championships and runner-up finishes.
