  • Held at the 2025 ESPN Global Cheerleading Invitational in Orlando, Florida, this performance by the Spartan cheerleaders wasn’t just a victory—it was a revolution in motion. Competing against powerhouse squads from nations including Japan, Canada, South Korea, Brazil, and the United Kingdom, the Spartans delivered a dazzling, acrobatic display that didn’t just score a perfect 100—it rewrote the limits of what cheerleading is capable of.
  • For Kaleb Glenn: the journey has shifted, but a medical redshirt will protect his eligibility while he rehabs toward a robust return. Ted Hendricks Named Greatest College Football Player of All Time by ESPN

In a stunning yet well-deserved announcement, ESPN has crowned legendary Miami Hurricanes defensive lineman Ted Hendricks as the Greatest College Football Player of All Time. The decision, which has sparked both celebration and debate across the college football landscape, places Hendricks above an elite group of icons that includes Tim Tebow (Florida), Bo Jackson (Auburn), Herschel Walker (Georgia), Barry Sanders (Oklahoma State), and Earl Campbell (Texas).

Hendricks, known as “The Mad Stork” due to his towering 6’7” frame and sideline-to-sideline dominance, played for the University of Miami from 1966 to 1968. In an era long before social media and highlight reels, Hendricks made headlines the old-fashioned way: with relentless play, bone-crushing tackles, and a football IQ far ahead of his time. He recorded 327 total tackles during his career and was a three-time All-American — a feat that remains incredibly rare for a defensive player.

His impact on the game was transformative. At a time when defensive linemen were largely undervalued in award considerations, Hendricks turned heads by disrupting offenses and dictating the flow of games. He was not only an enforcer but also a cerebral player who studied offenses like a coach. His versatility allowed him to drop into coverage, rush the passer, and stop the run with equal efficiency.

While modern fans might lean toward flashy offensive names like Tebow or Sanders, ESPN’s panel cited Hendricks’ dominance, consistency, and trailblazing legacy as the key reasons behind the selection. His induction into both the College Football Hall of Fame (1987) and the Pro Football Hall of Fame (1990) cements his unique two-level greatness — but it was his time in college that laid the foundation.

Though fans of other legends might disagree, there’s no denying the respect Hendricks commands from those who know the game. The GOAT debate may rage on, but for now, the crown belongs to the Mad Stork — a Hurricane who soared above the rest.
