Despite some early struggles, Nitu’s potential is undeniable. From the moment he arrived on campus, this 6’11” forward—who some thought lacked the physicality for college basketball—has shown flashes of brilliance. His unique blend of shooting, ball-handling, and rebounding has caught the attention of coaches, even if his size didn’t immediately fit the mold of a traditional FSU power forward.
Though his playing time has been inconsistent, that’s not due to a lack of talent—FSU’s deep roster simply limited his opportunities. As the season progresses, Nitu’s growth continues. Though his minutes still fluctuate, he’s become a better rim runner, post scorer, and defender. His development could be key to Florida State’s future, and while it’s uncertain who will stay after Hamilton’s departure, one thing is clear: Nitu is a piece the Seminoles should build around.
