The Oregon Ducks are back and on fire! After a brutal five-game losing streak, the Ducks flipped the script in a high-octane showdown against the Northwestern Wildcats, securing a much-needed 81-75 victory in a late-night Big Ten battle.
Despite a 14-point halftime lead, Duck fans were on edge, remembering their recent struggles, but Oregon powered through a late-game surge by the Wildcats to seal the deal. Leading the charge was sophomore sensation Jackson Shelstad, who went off for a career-high 26 points, as the Ducks shot over 38% from beyond the arc and dominated the boards, out-rebounding Northwestern by six.
The game wasn’t perfect—Oregon had its share of turnovers and fouls, and Northwestern got to the line for 10 free throws—but in the end, a win is a win. And after weeks of frustration, the Ducks desperately needed this victory.
Now 17-8 overall and 6-8 in the conference, Oregon remains on the outside looking in at the Big Ten Tournament, but with more chances to keep their tournament hopes alive, they’re ready to make some noise! The Ducks are heating up, and the season is far from over!
