INDIANAPOLIS – Get ready to witness greatness! UConn men’s basketball sensation Alex Karaban has been officially named to the Oscar Robertson Trophy Midseason Watch List, solidifying his place as one of the top contenders for the prestigious National Player of the Year award.
Karaban, the fearless 6-8 forward and captain of the Huskies, is dominating across all aspects of the game, posting a jaw-dropping 15.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 blocks per game. His all-around play is elevating UConn to new heights, as he ranks in the Top 20 of the Big East in nearly every major category, including minutes per game (37:06), 3-pointers (2.4), and assist/turnover ratio (2.33).
But that’s not all – Karaban has lit up the scoreboard this season, notching 5 games with 20+ points and setting personal records in rebounds, assists, and blocked shots. The milestone achievement of scoring 1,000 career points earlier this season makes him the 53rd Husky in history to reach that feat in just 86 games!
This explosive recognition puts Karaban in the conversation for the Oscar Robertson Trophy, with the winner to be unveiled at the NCAA Men’s Final Four in San Antonio this April. The competition is fierce, but with his relentless drive, Karaban is proving he’s more than ready for the challenge.
