Tyler Merrill, one of the nation’s top recruits, has narrowed his options, and Clemson is still in the race! The 4-star offensive lineman from Cumberland Valley, PA, revealed his Top 5 schools on Sunday: Clemson, Penn State, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Ohio State.
At 6-foot-6, 325 pounds, Merrill is an imposing force on the field and has racked up over 25 offers since earning his Clemson scholarship last June after a standout performance at a Tigers’ camp. “I am highly impressed,” Merrill told TCI. “It’s definitely not what I expected. I see why Coach Swinney is there—it’s an awesome place.”
Merrill’s most recent visit was during Clemson’s dominant home opener against App State, and just last week, Tigers’ offensive line coach Matt Luke made a personal in-home visit.
Ranked the No. 2 prospect in Pennsylvania and No. 7 interior offensive lineman in the nation, Merrill is a key target in the 2026 class, sitting at No. 87 overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings.
With his combination of size, talent, and admiration for Clemson’s program, Merrill is shaping up to be a massive addition for whichever program secures his commitment.
