The 2026 recruiting class is already off to a strong start, with commitments from four-star quarterback Dia Bell and wide receiver Chris Stewart. And now, the Longhorns have set their sights on another star: four-star running back Javian Osborne. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound talent from Forney High School has announced plans to visit Texas on the weekend of January 25, right after a trip to Georgia.
Osborne has been watching Texas for a while, and he’s particularly drawn to the idea of developing his skills under head coach Steve Sarkisian and running backs coach Tashard Choice. “Texas has been in the picture since my freshman year,” Osborne said. “I love how Coach Sarkisian uses running backs in both the pass and the run game, and Coach Choice has been a part of my recruitment from the start.”
Ranked as the No. 5 running back and No. 61 overall prospect by On3, Osborne is known for his explosive speed and creative running style that can slice through any defense. These skills make him a serious threat to top-tier teams. In a highly competitive race for his commitment, Texas faces competition from Georgia, Notre Dame, Michigan, Alabama, and Florida State.
With the stakes high, this visit could be a game-changer for the Longhorns as they look to add another explosive weapon to their already impressive recruiting class.
