Florida State is wasting no time in its mission to revamp its wide receiver corps after a lackluster 2024 campaign. The Seminoles have now set their sights on a standout playmaker who’s no stranger to offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn—Kaedin Robinson, a dynamic wide receiver from Appalachian State.
Robinson, a North Carolina native, has been turning heads with his impressive college career. Across three seasons with the Mountaineers, he amassed 147 receptions for 2,164 yards and 14 touchdowns. In the 2024 season alone, he notched 53 catches for 840 yards and two touchdowns in just nine games. Averaging 15.8 yards per catch, Robinson racked up three 100-yard games, including a standout performance of seven catches for 129 yards in a win against East Carolina.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver also led the Sun Belt Conference with 10 touchdowns in 2023, cementing his status as a force on the field. His journey began at ASA Brooklyn in 2019, where he earned NJCAA All-American honors after hauling in 37 receptions for 879 yards and 9 touchdowns. Robinson then transferred to UCF in 2021, where he briefly played under Malzahn’s tutelage, recording one touchdown on a 30-yard reception.
Now with one season of eligibility remaining, Robinson has sparked interest from top programs, including Michigan, UCLA, UCF, Cal, and Wake Forest. Florida State, eager to boost its offensive firepower, has already made its move by extending an offer to the talented receiver.
The Seminoles are already stacking up their receiving options for the 2025 season, with returning players like Hykeem Williams, Jalen Brown, and Lawayne McCoy, and new additions such as four-star signees Jayvan Boggs and Tae’Shaun Gelsey, plus USC transfer Duce Robinson. With the hiring of new wide receivers coach Tim Harris Jr., who was with Robinson at UCF, FSU is clearly positioning itself to dominate next season’s air game.
