Former Clemson defensive end A.J. Hoffler has found his next destination, and it’s staying within the ACC. The talented defensive lineman has committed to Georgia Tech, where he will have the chance to face off against his former team in 2025. The Yellow Jackets are set to host Clemson at a date to be announced, making for a highly anticipated matchup.
Hoffler, a 6-foot-4, 255-pound sophomore, entered the transfer portal just last week. With two years of eligibility left, the former four-star recruit brings a wealth of experience. In his two seasons at Clemson, Hoffler recorded 17 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and two pass breakups over 319 defensive snaps in 21 games. During the 2024 season alone, he tallied 13 tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss across 14 games.
Ranked as the No. 37 edge defender and No. 312 overall prospect in the 2023 recruiting class by the 247Sports Composite, Hoffler was a standout at Woodward Academy in Atlanta. He finished his high school career with an impressive 90 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, one interception, one fumble recovery, and six forced fumbles.
