In a move that has Tennessee fans buzzing with pride, former Vols defensive star Eric Berry has officially been inducted into the Peach Bowl Hall of Fame! Berry, a two-time unanimous First-Team All-American and the 2009 Jim Thorpe Award winner as the nation’s top defensive back, now joins the ranks of the best in the game.
Berry’s legendary career hit a peak during the 2009 Peach Bowl against Virginia Tech, and now he’s being honored for his remarkable contributions to the sport. He is one of three inductees this year, alongside former Florida State and Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher and Neill Cameron Jr., a key figure in the Peach Bowl’s history.
Since its inception in 2002, the Peach Bowl Hall of Fame has recognized some of the greatest names in football, and Berry’s induction makes him the fourth Vol to be honored, joining defensive legend Reggie White (2004), head coach Johnny Majors (2005), and head coach Phillip Fulmer (2012).
