Big things are happening in Norman as Oklahoma football lands a massive commitment to cap off the 2024 season. On Tuesday, the Sooners secured a commitment from wide receiver Josiah Martin, a standout transfer from California, set to join the squad in 2025. This exciting news adds yet another explosive weapon to the Sooners’ offense and marks a new chapter in their roster-building efforts.
Martin, who spent his freshman season at Cal, made an immediate impact despite limited playing time, recording 12 catches for 112 yards and scoring his first career touchdown—a 29-yard rushing TD—in the LA Bowl. His skillset and playmaking ability make him a perfect fit for Oklahoma’s high-powered offense.
Hailing from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Martin had a standout career at Guyer High School in Denton, where he racked up 1,806 yards and 18 touchdowns in two seasons. As a junior, he connected with future Sooner Jackson Arnold for 878 yards and 9 TDs, and as a senior, he exploded with 1,047 yards and 12 TDs on 66 receptions. With a consensus 3-star ranking and ESPN’s No. 74 wideout spot in the 2024 class, Martin’s pedigree speaks for itself.
