Kennesaw State University has just made a game-changing move as it prepares for the 2025 football season. Jerry Mack, the new head coach, has officially appointed Mitch Militello—former Tennessee football analyst and trusted assistant— as the Owls’ offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Militello, who worked alongside Mack at Tennessee from 2021 to 2024, brings a wealth of experience in offensive strategy, having collaborated closely with quarterbacks. His coaching journey includes a significant role at UCF under Josh Heupel before joining the Volunteers. He also honed his skills as a student assistant under Heupel during their time at Missouri, further solidifying his coaching pedigree.
Mack, who took on the challenge as Kennesaw State’s head coach, expressed his enthusiasm about the new additions to his team. “We’re thrilled to welcome Mitch and these amazing coaches to the KSU Owl family,” he said. “They are exceptional teachers and recruiters, and I’m eager to see the incredible impact they’ll have on both our program and our student-athletes.”
With the 2025 season quickly approaching, Kennesaw State is set to make a powerful statement in Conference USA. The Owls’ opening game under Coach Mack is set for August 30, 2025, at Wake Forest, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the team.
