In a second blow to Auburn’s offensive line, former starting tackle Percy Lewis has entered the transfer portal, following E.J. Harris, who made a similar move earlier this month. The 6-foot-7, 355-pound senior joined Auburn for one season but struggled as the 2024 season progressed, ultimately losing his starting role.
Lewis began the season strong, earning a spot on PFF’s “Team of the Week” after the Tigers’ season-opening win over Alabama A&M. However, his performance declined, and he was eventually benched, finishing the season with just 308 snaps and the lowest grade among Auburn’s offensive tackles with at least 50 snaps, according to PFF.
Before his brief stint at Auburn, Lewis spent two years at Mississippi State, where he played in 25 games and started eight. He originally came to the SEC as a four-star JUCO recruit and was ranked as the No. 1 JUCO offensive tackle in the 2022 class.
Auburn has already made moves to strengthen their offensive line by adding four-star tackles Mason Murphy from USC and Xavier Chaplin from Virginia Tech, ranked No. 3 and No. 5, respectively, by 247Sports. The Tigers have also signed four high school offensive linemen for their 2025 class, continuing their focus on building a solid front for the future.
As Auburn ranks No. 4 in the transfer portal class standings, the team continues to make moves to bolster its roster, despite the recent departures.
