Malik Benson, a former Florida State Seminoles wide receiver, has his sights set on a visit to College Station, according to On3. After entering the portal just before Christmas, the speedy receiver is ready to explore new opportunities.
Benson’s football journey is nothing short of remarkable. He started at Hutchinson Community College, where he quickly made a name for himself as the No. 1 JUCO prospect in the nation. From there, he joined the Alabama Crimson Tide as part of their top-ranked 2023 recruiting class. In his lone year with Alabama, Benson recorded 13 catches for 162 yards and a touchdown before transferring to Florida State.
Known for his electrifying speed, Benson blazed a 10.4-second 100-meter dash in high school and was compared to Alabama standout Jameson Williams. At Florida State, he proved his worth with 25 catches for 311 yards and one touchdown, finishing second on the team in receiving. His breakout game came in a close loss to Memphis, where he racked up 99 yards on five catches. Despite a strong start to the season, Benson’s production waned towards the end of the year.
Now, as he eyes a fresh start, Benson ranks as the No. 521 player and No. 94 receiver in the portal, looking to make his next move count. With his big-play potential and blazing speed, he could be the next standout talent to make an impact at Texas A&M.
