The Golden State Warriors are reveling in the impact of ex-76ers sharpshooter Buddy Hield, who’s making waves after his offseason trade.
In just two games, Hield has already emerged as the team’s leading scorer, all while coming off the bench.
In a standout performance against the Portland Trail Blazers, Hield played 15 minutes, taking 12 shots—seven from deep—and finished with 22 points on a scorching 67% shooting, including five three-pointers. His hot streak continued in the next game against the Utah Jazz, where he logged 20 minutes and dropped another 21 points, hitting 7 of 9 from beyond the arc.
With this incredible shooting, Hield has etched his name in NBA history, setting the record for the most three-pointers made in the first two games with a new team. While it’s early to declare him a home run acquisition for the Warriors, his performances have certainly ignited excitement among fans.
Known for his consistent long-range shooting since entering the league in 2016, Hield has averaged an impressive 40% from three across more than 600 games. Last season with the 76ers, he averaged 12 points per game, but struggled to find his footing in the playoffs. Ultimately, a sign-and-trade deal sent him to Golden State, where he signed a lucrative four-year contract worth over $35 million, solidifying his place with the Warriors through 2027.
