Georgia wide receiver Colbie Young was taken into custody early Tuesday morning on misdemeanor charges, including battery and assault on an unborn child.
Arrested at 4:18 a.m. ET by Athens-Clarke County Police, Young is currently held on a $2,500 bond.
Standing at 6’3″ and weighing 215 pounds, Young joined the Bulldogs this season after transferring from Miami. So far, he has caught 11 passes for 149 yards and has two touchdowns, placing him fourth on the team in receptions. His recent performances include over 50 receiving yards in each of Georgia’s last two games, highlighted by a season-high 57 yards against Alabama in Week 5.
Previously, Young spent two years at Miami, amassing 939 yards and 10 touchdowns, with 563 yards and five scores in 2023 alone. He initially signed with the Hurricanes in 2022 as a three-star recruit from Lackawanna College in Pennsylvania.
